- Investment rates are at a decadal high, driven by the ongoing health of our investment portfolios
- $1.1bn in new loan settlements for February – a new peak
- Our new US Private Credit product for wholesale investors passing the $150 million AUM milestone
Economic Update: Michael Watson, Head of Distribution
Four years on from the first COVID lockdown in Australia, a range of economic stressors have been worked through, and continue to be worked through. As we look forward, we do so with cautious optimism for the period ahead:
- Inflation is falling from peak, with unemployment still stubbornly low
- GDP growth remains positive, albeit subdued
- Increasing central bank interest rates are appearing to have a positive effect on productivity
Credit & Property Market Update – Lilian Chin, Head of Client Partnerships
After a few years of some extreme real estate and credit market movements, 2024 is shaping up for modest growth.
- Total credit being written in the market is tilting back towards longer-term trends
- The residential property market is still forecast to grow in 2024 thanks to demand vs supply mismatches.
- There is likely to be some divergence in outcomes across capital cities.
