Today, La Trobe Financial has proudly announced a partnership with Melbourne Food and Wine Festival – the long-standing culinary celebration of Victoria’s restaurateurs and vibrant food and drink scene – for the triumphant return of World’s Longest Lunch, next year.
The 2023 World’s Longest Lunch will be hosted in Melbourne’s stunning Treasury Gardens and headlined by the hospitality powerhouse behind world-class destination, Lake House in Daylesford, Alla Wolf-Tasker AM.
La Trobe Financial’s Chief People and Marketing Officer Antonietta Sestito reflects on supporting the exciting re-emergence of Melbourne’s vibrant dining scene with a much-loved Melbourne event that is bringing people back into the city: “Melbourne is coming back and the culture of good food, good wine and conversation is coming back with it. This is the culture that made Melbourne the city that it is and the World’s Longest Lunch showcases this culture for the world to see. La Trobe Financial has been part of the life of this city and this nation since 1952, and we are delighted to partner with such a storied event, but also with an institution like Lake House, a great Victorian success story built on passion, expertise and no small amount of determination.”
The World’s Longest Lunch is the feature event that kicks off the 2023 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. From humble beginnings on the turf at the MCG in 1993, the event now boasts close to 2,000 guests sitting down to a three-course meal presented by some of Victoria’s culinary giants.
Anthea Loucas Bosha, CEO of Food + Drink Victoria, the not-for-profit parent company behind Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, said: “We are super excited to be back in March 2023 with some of the world’s best eating and drinking right here in Melbourne. We have a superstar line-up of Victorian talent headlining our signature events the World’s Longest Lunch and the World’s Longest Brunch”.
The 2023 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival will run from 24 March to 2 April 2023. The full festival program will be announced in early February next year.
